Staying focused on service and making a positive impact.
This week, our campaign received news about the indictment of TN State Senator Brian Kelsey. We firmly believe that every person is innocent until proven guilty and that every individual deserves the right to be heard in a court of law.
This news has not shifted our focus. Since we announced this campaign in August 2021, running to represent TN State Senate District 31 has been about representing the needs of East Shelby County in the General Assembly. With a growing list of issues impacting everyday people, such as the lack of affordable housing, inadequate student funding in our state, inadequate healthcare options for all, the struggles of small, locally owned businesses, climate change, the economy and inflation, our community can’t afford to wait and see what happens.
As we prepare for the months ahead, we will continue to attend meetings and events with stakeholders to better understand the issues people care about, to participate in forums about important issues such as the student funding formula and redistricting, continue volunteering and serving in the community, and providing voter education.
We have a lot of work to do. That is why we are staying focused on service and making a positive impact.
